Beneficiaries
Who Benefits from the Field of Honor®?
The net proceeds from the Field of Honor® flag sales directly benefit veteran and first responder non-profit organizations. From the inception of the Field of Honor® in 2017, over $200,000 has been awarded to Beneficiaries and Affiliate organizations from flag sales. Beneficiaries are selected through a grant application process. Organizations that were awarded a grant through the Field of Honor® in 2022 are not eligible to apply in 2023, but can apply next year (2024).

The Rotary Club of Georgetown Foundation also retains a portion of the proceeds to help support the needs of veteran and first responder organizations throughout the year, to provide services directly to veterans and first responders through projects that are carried out by Rotarians, or to provide scholarships for students whose parents serve our country in the military or law enforcement.
The window for applications to be considered as a 2024 Field of Honor® Beneficiary will be announced here in in the first quarter of 2024.
BELOW ARE THE 2022 FIELD of HONOR® BENEFICIARIES!
In 2022, the following organizations received a total of $27,500:
O.P. Veteran Among the many activities it conducts each year, was asked to use the funds to specifically bolster their Garrison retreat program, a weeklong retreat for veterans to share stories, forge friendships, and heal together.
R.O.C.K. (Ride on Center for Kids)
ROCK will soon be launching a Rock On First Responder program to address certain deficits in the officer’s current training regimen. Funds have been designated to be used for this essential program.
WilCo Blue Star Mothers
Their mission is to support our service members, while supporting each other. WilCo Blue Star Mothers’ volunteer endeavors include the annual Wreaths for Vets event at Central Texas State Veteran Cemetery, honoring our local Gold Star Mothers and their children by placing lilies at area cemeteries and hosting the annual Gold Star Mothers Day luncheon, interacting and working in support of local VFW’s, American Legions, and other Veteran Service Orgs, being present, planning and participating in local area patriotic holiday events and much more. The volunteer opportunities are abundant. Blue Star Fathers and family members are welcome to join and participate as Associate Members.
The Rotary Club of Georgetown Foundation also retains a portion of the proceeds to provide grants and support for various needs and projects that benefit veterans and first responders as they are approved by the Board of Directors throughout the Rotary fiscal year, July 1 through June 30.
IN 2021, THE FOLLOWING BENEFICIARIES RECEIVED A TOTAL OF $38,500 from flag sales!
The Birdwell Foundation
The Birdwell Foundation’s mission is to decrease and eliminate veteran and first responder suicide. By providing a community of support from fellow warriors who have found their way out of the darkness by a healing process they are now prepared and ready to teach and provide to others.
To enhance and support Service Members, Veterans, First Responders and their family members through programs and services in a caring, safe, family-friendly environment
Chris Kelly Foundation
The Chris Kelley Foundation is a 100% all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to perpetually recognizing the ultimate sacrifice of Detective Sergeant Chris Kelley. This Foundation brings communities together to support law enforcement families who have lost their officer and those critically injured. We honor and pay tribute to all first responders and military.
Dilworth Chapter of the MOWW
The Dilworth Chapter of the MOWW supports youth and patriotic education. We provide 5-day youth leadership conferences each summer; we recognize: youth achievement in JROTC, youth in the scouting programs; police and first responders; we support military memorials.
Heroes Night Out
The mission of Heroes Night Out is to enhance and support Service Members, Veterans, First Responders and their family members through programs and services in a caring, safe, family-friendly environment.
MERIT RECIPIENTS
Corporal Chad Oligschlaeger Foundation for PTSD
Provides non-pharmaceutical medical help for veterans with PTSD.
Rally Point Outdoors
Veterans Suicide Prevention Channel
The Veterans Suicide Prevention Channel’s mission is to prevent Veteran and Military personnel Suicide through video productions & broadcasts and alternative forms of treatment.
Congratulations to these deserving organizations!
A portion of the flag sales proceeds will also be used by the Rotary Club of Georgetown to provide services directly to veterans and first responders through active projects identified by the Club and carried out by Rotarians.
In 2020, $32,500 was awarded to Beneficiaries and Affiliates!

The above six recipients of donations from 2020 proceeds remain eligible to submit a request for consideration this year.
